Miniature Dhows to be manufactured in Kerala and delivered to Qatar for FIFA world cup

For  the prize category of the FIFA World Cup, one thousand miniature forms of the traditional Arabic dhow, “Uru” will be presented to Qatar from Kerala.

FIFA has sanctioned four types of prizes for the World Cup. "Black Arrow Gifts and Novelties Company" is the official partner for the gifts in the cultural category.They will complete the manufacture of the miniature dhows in Beypur, Kerala and deliver it to Doha. This is the first time that Kerala will be represented in the prize category of the FIFA World Cup. With this, Qatar's heritage and Kerala's craftsmanship is taking a ride along the  journey of World Cup.

The “Uru” made by sculptors of Beypur, completed in wood, has been used in Qatar for centuries.Fifteen artists of Beypur are making thousands of “Uru's” from their homes which will duly consider and comply with FIFA standards
