NewsHE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, Minister of Transport, inaugurated two marine boats at Doha Port. The two vessels are the most recent additions to the fleet of ships owned by Mwani Qatar. This occurred concurrently with the Transport Ministry's "Sustainable Transport and Legacy for Generations" Conference and Exhibition, which was hosted by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and was held on 17–18 September at the DECC.
The Doha, Hamad, and Al-Ruwais ports' basins are cleaned with the most eco-friendly techniques utilising the multipurpose Aljurula boat, which also serves as a vessel for collecting oil spills and debris. The 12.6-meter-long Aljurula can assemble trash and oil spills. It can hold 25,000 litres at full capacity. It may gather oil spills across a 200 m2 area. It has a 1-meter deep draught.
The second vessel, Alsamlah, is 32.7 metres long and is used to maintain commercial and tourist ports in addition to navigational aids like buoys, making all sorts of vessel traffic in Qatari seas safer and more effective.
The ministry's dedication to safeguarding maritime safety and security and the marine environment of Qatar is reflected in the launch of the two boats. This advances the objectives of Qatar's national strategy to address oil pollution as well as pertinent regional and global agreements.
The Permanent Committee for the Management of Maritime Ports Chairperson Brig. Dr. Abdulhadi Mohammad Zabin Al Dosari, Deputy Chairperson of Qatar Tourism HE Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, and many Mwani Qatar officials all attended the inauguration ceremony.
