The Ministry of Culture, represented by Qatar Voluntary Center, recently organised a workshop entitled “Volunteering to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022” in cooperation with Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and in partnership with Tomoh for Community Development.
The workshop, which was held in Ibn Khaldoun Hall at Qatar University, intended to shed light on volunteering values, its indications and references in religion, heritage and society, in addition to exchanging the experiences of various volunteering experiences.
During her inaugural speech delivered to the audience in the workshop, Deputy Director of Qatar Voluntary Center, Aisha Yousef Al Tamimi, tackled the ultimate objective of volunteering in assisting others and spreading happiness, indicating that the teachings of the Islamic religion urge volunteering to spread love among people.
The workshop included explanations of how to register through the website dedicated to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 volunteers, including the necessary steps of registering on the condition that the age of those who would like to register shall be less than 18 years, starting from filling out the form, followed by the personal interview for Qataris and residents in the State of Qatar, which is virtually available for those international volunteers who live outside Qatar.
She indicated that the end of July has been set as the deadline for receiving the participation requests.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Qatar Voluntary Center honoured the volunteers participating in the 27th edition of the Rabat International Book Fair, the Ramadan Book Fair, and the fourth edition of the International Federation of Sports Press Awards.
