Ministry of Interior has introduced advanced monitoring systems in Qatar to ensure road safety and to detect violations

The Ministry of Interior has installed cutting-edge surveillance systems throughout Qatar to guarantee traffic safety and identify infractions. This came after it posted a video showing the careless driving of certain drivers who pass on the right. 

The Ministry said on social media, "Overtaking from the right is reckless behaviour that often disregards the rights of others and results in numerous traffic accidents."  It went on to say that in order to improve traffic safety, a number of monitoring devices have been put in place to look for instances of right-side overtaking breaches. 

The 2015 amendment to the traffic code states that passing on the right side would result in a fine of QR1,000. Via its social media accounts, the Ministry has been emphasising how crucial it is to abide by traffic regulations in order to protect everyone who uses the roads, including drivers.
