The Ministry of Labour received 7,231 new recruitment requests during the first month of 2023, out of which 5,041 were approved and 2,190 rejected.
The ministry also announced that, among 3,924 profession amendment requests, 3,721 were accepted while 203 were rejected.
January also saw 2,321 work permit requests being submitted to the ministry, including 1,221 to renew the permit, 735 to issue a new permit, and 365 to cancel issued permits.
Meanwhile, 2,718 complaints were made by employees against their employing establishment subject to the provisions of the labour law, with 1,832 being under process, 610 settled, and 276 referred to the committees.
As for public complaints, 84 had been received for the month of January, with all 84 settled.
