The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has approved 15 home-based company ventures with simple licencing requirements. The Ministry shared the specifics of the activities and the licencing procedure in a tweet with the message, "Find out what activities are allowed to start your home business." The creation of various types of Arabic sweets, occasion meal service, women's clothes tailoring and sewing, dressmaking and embroidery, package and present wrapping services, and website design are all permitted home businesses.
The packing of papers, memoranda, bindings, and letters; the creation and preparation of fragrances and bukhoor; the creation and preparation of cosmetics; and the preparation of pies and pastries are other operations. Commercial licence services application form, building completion certificate or land plan, licence holder's undertaking, To Whom It May Concern Certificate (Kahramaa), copy of applicant's and property owner's identity cards and the home's My Address number plate are all prerequisites for granting a home licence. The owner of the property must also have no objections.
To apply for a home business licence online, the applicant can use the single window system. The applicants do not have to fill out the physical form for licencing services if they submit their application online. The Registration and Commercial Licences Department of MoCI gives permits for people to conduct business activities at home that don't cost a lot of money, mostly rely on their own abilities, don't use bothersome machinery, and don't include risky chemicals.
By allowing them to conduct certain business activities from their homes, this initiative seeks to regulate home businesses while providing opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to be innovative, develop their skills, support their ideas, and invest in their own projects.
It serves as motivation for the development and extension of their initiatives as well as the establishment of businesses that will promote economic growth and economic variety. In order to control the business climate and foster an atmosphere that encourages private investment and entrepreneurs, the ministry has established a number of initiatives, such as the one to control the operations of street vendors.
The ministry has already made the decision to exclusively offer complete establishment and renewal services through the "Single Window" platform. The benefits of the Single Window include the ability to renew for one to five years without being constrained by the need that business records and licences expire within 60 days.
