MoI has warned public not to open links from unknown sources

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has cautioned the public against clicking on links or replying to messages from unidentified sources, while emphasizing the need of avoiding cybercrime dangers.

In an alert, the MoI stated, "We advise avoiding opening links and not responding to messages from unknown sources to be safe from the risks of cybercrimes."

The MoI has advised the public to exercise caution in order to avoid falling victim to phishing attempts, which employ emails or messaging platforms to deceive people into opening attachments that contain dangerous files or clicking on links.

Phishing, a type of fraud, involves using email or other communication channels to pose as a trustworthy organization or individual in order to collect sensitive information. It frequently leads people to provide personal information on a phony website that looks and feels exactly like the real one.

The ministry has stressed the value of data privacy and advised against sharing personal information online.
