
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sada, the director of the Ministry of Municipality's Public Parks Department, announced the ministry's intentions to soon open additional public parks in different municipalities, bringing the nation's park count to 160.
According to Al Sada, there are currently 122 public parks in Qatar, which are dispersed among several municipalities and cover 2.6 million square meters in total. With a total area of 3.19 million square meters, there are 151 parks, squares, and corniches.
He emphasized that the cool weather during the holy month of Ramadan draws a lot of people to the public parks, encouraging people of all nationalities to make them a popular spot for entertainment, leisure, and a respite from the everyday grind.
According to Al Sada, a lot of families decided to break their fast at public parks during Maghreb because of the extensive amenities they provide, such as places for dining, prayer rooms, restrooms, and spaces for sports and kid-friendly games.
