MoT announced that it has completed infrastructure works of first phase of the Water Taxi project

The Ministry of Transportation (MoT) announced that the Lusail Ferry Terminal and the two ferry stops, Pearl Ferry Stop and Corniche Ferry Stop, were finished with the infrastructure for the first phase of the Water Taxi project.

In the show, a model of the Lusail Ferry Terminal is on display at the MoT booth. The project's facilities are also shown visually in the exhibit. Modern aquatic public transportation systems outfitted with state-of-the-art environmentally friendly technologies are the goal of the Water Taxi project.

In order to carry people to and from different locations, it also seeks to improve integration with other public transportation networks. According to the MoT's general frameworks, the project will be connected to the Sila public transit system once it starts operations. This will help achieve the objectives of the third national development strategy for Qatar, which focuses on utilizing advanced technologies, sustainable development, and economic diversification in order to achieve the QNV2030 pillars.

The main Lusail Ferry Terminal is more than 2200 square meters in size. For ferry refueling, it has a pontoon with electric chargers. The pontoon can hold four boats that are 24 meters long.

In addition, the terminal has a ticket office, a waiting space, and a number of service amenities like shops and offices. Additionally, there are pontoons, ticket offices, and customer service offices at the two ferry stations at the Pearl and Corniche.

The MoT booth has attracted a lot of visitors. In addition to the automatic identification system (AIS) that ships employ for increased safety and to make tracking easier during inspection operations, it also showcases a bundle of new digital services that are currently available for boats at the MoT website. Additionally, the booth has a moisture meter for fiberglass and wooden boats called Skipper Plus.
