Old Doha Port to host more naval ship visits and expand its cruise ship schedules

CEO Mohamed Abdulla al-Mulla says Old Doha Port intends to expand its cruise liner schedules and welcome more naval ship visits as part of a major event calendar expansion. He noted that this action follows the successful first Qatar Boat Show last year and seeks to further solidify the port's standing as a leading maritime hub on a regional and international scale.

According to him, 495 exhibitors and companies participated in the event, which drew over 20,000 attendees. It demonstrated the port's ability to host large-scale events by showcasing 95 boats and watercraft. He emphasized the port's existing facility as a favored stop for such vessels, citing its strategic location along the Doha Corniche and its state-of-the-art facilities.

Forbes ranked the port's terminal as one of the most beautiful in the world, and the CEO pointed out that it is built for maximum efficiency. It provides 24-hour immigration and customs services and can house two cruise ships at the same time, each with 6,000 passengers.

From accelerated visa-free entrance for qualified travelers to cultural attractions like the City Gallery, which has an aquarium and interactive exhibits, he said the improved passenger experience encompasses a number of enhancements.
