Over 90 percent work of Al Wakra Public Park has been completed; expected to open by year-end

Al Wakra Municipality Director General Eng. Mohammed Hassan Al Nuaimi stated that more than 90% of the project's work has been finished, and the park should open by end of the year. As per the official, there will be running tracks, kid-friendly play areas, exercise equipment, and leisure spaces at Al Wakra Public Park.

A number of initiatives are also underway, offering natural spaces to encourage residents to lead healthier lifestyles. According to him, residents may now engage in sports, socialising, leisure, and relaxation in the park.

He stated that tree planting and landscaping on development projects like roads, squires, and public facilities increased the green spaces in Al Wakra city by 1,300% in the past period. According to him, green areas improve biodiversity, urban attractiveness, and the carbon footprint of cities.

Al Wakra Municipality offers services to improve the city's quality of life in keeping with Qatar National Vision 2030. He mentioned a few initiatives that have been carried out recently, such as the use of solar energy to illuminate certain beaches in Al Wakra City. The 500-meter walkway is said to be the first of its sort in the area and features Braille signboards. It is constructed entirely of recyclable materials.

The initiative is part of a larger effort to improve the institutional relationship between the public and private sectors in order to better serve all societal segments and fulfil their goals, including those who fall under the category of visually impaired individuals.
