NewsThe Department of Communicable Diseases of the Department of Infection Control, on behalf of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), stated that all vaccines needed for the Hajj or Umrah are accessible without charge in each of its 31 clinics located throughout the nation.
According to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, there are no limitations placed on the number of pilgrims this year, allowing them to reach their pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels without age limits. The requirement to complete immunization with basic doses of approved COVID-19 vaccines provided that it is not less than two doses for the pilgrim wishing to perform the pilgrimage this year.
It is important to note that pilgrims must follow safety precautions when doing the Hajj in order to preserve their health and safety. Pilgrims from outside the Kingdom must have a valid vaccination certificate verifying receipt of the necessary immunisations.
The PHCC emphasised the need of getting vaccines well in advance of the Hajj (10 days or more before departure) in order to prevent various infectious diseases, as there are several immunisations that are either required or optional.
