Qatar Airways announced its operations to the new Manohar International Airport in North Goa, effective from June 20

With effect from June 20, 2024, Qatar Airways stated that it will relocate its operations from the present Dabolim Airport (GOI) in South Goa, India to the new Manohar International Airport (GOX) in the North Goa region. The same schedule of a direct daily flight using a combination of Boeing 787 and Airbus 320 aircraft will be used to service this route.

GOX, with Qatar Airways, will now be able to service a wider range of airlines, including strategic partners IndiGo and Oman Air. With its cutting-edge facilities and convenient access to lodging and public transit, the new airport is expected to improve the traveller experience.

The long-standing cooperation between Doha and Goa began in 2009 when Qatar Airways began operating there. The switch from GOI to GOX signals the beginning of an improved airport experience for passengers flying on Qatar Airways to more than 170 locations.

The vast airport experience at GOX is intended to capture the vibrant spirit of the community via a fusion of modern and Goan architecture. With 25,000 metric tonnes of temperature-controlled handling capacity, its cargo facilities might make GOX the best export centre in the area.

Currently, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Thiruvananthapuram are among the thirteen Indian locations that Qatar Airways serves via air travel.
