Qatar Airways Cargo partners with MASkargo to enhance global cargo connectivity and operational efficiency
20 Nov 2024
NewsMalaysia Aviation Group subsidiary MASkargo and the world's leading air cargo carrier, Qatar Airways Cargo, have announced the start of a new strategic alliance.
Mark Jason Thomas, the CEO of MASkargo, and Mark Drusch, the Chief Officer of Cargo for Qatar Airways Cargo, announced the cooperation yesterday. It is a major step toward improving operational efficiency and worldwide cargo connectivity. Since its official start on October 1, 2024, the partnership has successfully moved about 2,400 tons of goods, including 130 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and more than 600 tonnes of perishables.
The weekly cargo capacity of Qatar Airways Cargo has increased by more than 200 tonnes thanks to the addition of two Boeing 777 flights from Doha to Kuala Lumpur. With MASkargo Airbus A330 freighters transporting over 75 tonnes of cargo capacity each week to Sydney and Melbourne and a quick 8-hour connecting time in Kuala Lumpur, the strategic collaboration will further reinforce connectivity and efficiency to these cities. Modern handling facilities and smooth connections are provided by the critical hubs at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Hamad International Airport, which will be crucial.
