Qatar Airways selected as an official MRO provider for the Airbus A350’s APUs

Honeywell has chosen Qatar Airways as an official Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) supplier for the Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) of the Airbus A350. This license, the first for the HGT1700 APU in the Middle East and Africa, is a noteworthy accomplishment that positions Qatar Airways as a major player in the regional and international aviation MRO market.

The Airbus A350's HGT1700 APU, located in the tail section, provides vital electric and pneumatic power for a number of onboard systems, including the primary engines. Because of this arrangement, Qatar Airways will make money every year and save money on fleet maintenance. This development also fits with Qatar's goal of developing the region into a hub for technology and aviation.

Qatar Airways will develop and build a state-of-the-art MRO facility to service Honeywell's sophisticated HGT1700 APU as part of this partnership. This achievement solidifies Qatar Airways' standing as a rising leader in the aircraft repair industry by placing it among the few international MRO suppliers authorized to carry out these specialized services.

This state-of-the-art facility, outfitted with energy-efficient and environmentally advanced technologies, will establish new standards for maintenance excellence. By 2028, completion is expected.

Qatar Airways enters a new chapter by becoming an official Honeywell Channel Partner and being able to offer maintenance services for Honeywell products. In order to introduce its first APU into the facility by 2028, Qatar Airways is expediting the project timeframe.
