NewsQatar Museums has extended an invitation to the public to explore the history of the Early Islamic era through special tours of the archaeological site of Ain Mohammed. These chances are intended to provide an immersive insight into the current excavations at Ain Mohammed and Mesaika as part of the second season of the "Landscapes of Faith" project.
Thirty of the sites from the Early Islamic era that have been identified by archaeologists are located in central and southern Qatar, while the majority are dispersed across the country's deserts in the north. Visit Ain Mohammed, one of these sites, during these two public open days.
The excavation at Ain Mohammed will be toured by Dr. Robert Carter, Director of the project from Qatar Museums, who will highlight recently found buildings and artefacts. An engaging narrative about the historical importance and current discoveries at the site is promised by this exceptional chance.
"Landscapes of Faith" tackles important issues pertaining to Qatar's archaeological legacy, seeking to explain the rationale for the concentration of these sites and interpret the way of life of its former occupants. The investigation of the lifestyles, economic pursuits, global connectedness, and fortitude of the people living in the harsh Qatari desert is being led by this initiative.
