Qatar National Library has organized a range of activities to keep everyone engaged this summer

As the summer heat sets in, Qatar National Library has put together a fun lineup of events to keep everyone entertained this July. Reading challenges, thought-provoking talks, and interactive workshops will foster enrichment and reflection among all members, with children and young adults receiving special attention.

The Children's Library, in conjunction with Little Thinking Minds, is hosting the "Summer Reading Challenge" from July 1 to August 20. Engaging exercises will assist parents in combating the dreaded'summer slip' in their children's reading ability, with special awards awarded to participants who complete the challenge. Members of the library can access the "I Read Arabic" platform by logging in to the website and using the children's online resources. Participants will be requested to submit a video clip after completing the activities for their designated age group. Please see the QNL Events page for further details.

The Library is conducting a series of seminars beginning with "Parenting a Superstar Student" on July 11 in order to give suggestions and guidance to support good academic practises. Human psychology, neurolinguistic programming, physiology, clever methods to study, how to write an essay, and how to increase your memory will all be covered.

The fourth Community Read book discussion will be held on July 12th, and will focus on the acclaimed novel Baghdad Clock, which was nominated for the 2018 International Prize for Arabic Fiction. The Arabic edition is available for loan through the User Services Desk, while the English version is available through the Overdrive database or the Library's app.

The Library's famous Summer Camp for children and young people begins on July 16 and will feature a variety of exciting activities during the summer holiday.

On July 16, KidZania's "World Discovery Summer Camp" will teach children to Indonesia's various languages, cultural dances, traditional food, and clothing. Every day until July 20th, the event will be repeated.

Activities at Creative Summer Camp continue throughout August. The "Hand Embroidery" workshop on August 1 is a pleasant way to learn the principles of one of the oldest handcrafted crafts.

"Colouring with Coloured Sand" on August 21 will be an opportunity for youngsters to develop their creativity in a fun environment by creating stunning gradient pieces of art with coloured sand. Other workshops on the schedule include "Jewellery Making" on August 22 and "Little Weavers" on August 23.

On July 23, "Power of the Book: A Tale of Two Young Men" will emphasise the influence of reading and the power of words on the lives of two young Arab men, with plenty to interest everyone in the community. Participants in this class will learn how to select the finest books to help them build their talents, as well as how to use the Library's extensive variety of resources to accomplish this aim.

Please visit the Events page on the Library's website or the QNL mobile app, which is free and available to download from the App Store or Google Play.
