NewsQatar now ranks ninth out of 88 nations on Numbeo's Quality of Life Index 2025, up nine places from 18th in 2024.
The country's index score is 193.3, up significantly from 165.9 in 2024. These scores exceed those of the majority of the region's countries.
The Quality of Life Index assesses the overall quality of life in a country or city. It takes into account a variety of elements that affect quality of life, including purchasing power, pollution levels, housing affordability, cost of living, safety, healthcare quality, commuting times, and weather conditions.
Qatar is ranked in the top 15 of the index ahead of many industrialized countries such as Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and the United States. They are placed tenth, eleventh, twelveth, thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth, respectively.
