Qatar’s Ministry of Transport is working towards transitioning the public transport bus system into a 100% electric fleet by 2030

As per the statement made by a high-ranking official on Sunday, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) in Qatar is striving to progressively convert the nation's bus fleet to electric vehicles by 2030. The operational rate of electric buses has reportedly reached 70%, according to MoT's Director of the Land Transport Licencing Department Hamad Ali Al Marri. This achievement is mostly due to an integrated infrastructure that offers several advantages.

According to him, the main advantages were a decrease in Qatar's carbon footprint as well as in the amount of energy and fuel consumed.

He was speaking during a ceremony at Expo 2023 Doha, on behalf of the Business Class Advertising Group. The Minister also presented Excellence in Sustainability Awards to businesses and establishments.
