Qatar’s startup ecosystem reached seventh position in Middle East and advanced to 79th globally

NewsThe startup and entrepreneurial ecosystems in Qatar have garnered worldwide recognition, as seen by the notable advancements in their global rankings. The Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024 indicates that, in contrast to the previous two years, Qatar's startup ecosystem saw a significant improvement in 2024, rising 11 spots to 79th place worldwide and to seventh place in the Middle East.
In the meantime, the nation scored 5.9 on the National Entrepreneurship Context Index (NECI), above the global average of 4.7, placing it third in the MENA region and fifth overall, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor's (GEM) Qatar National Report 2023/2024, which was released in partnership with QDB.
The GEM report also showed that Qatar's Total Early-Stage Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) rate has increased significantly from 10.7% to an astounding 14.3% in the past year.
A growing number of international entrepreneurs are drawn to Qatar because of its favorable business climate, and Invest Qatar has been instrumental in helping these companies enter the market. Through the Invest Qatar Gateway portal, businesses may engage with important players, obtain vital information, and explore cooperation opportunities to build a strong presence in the country.
