NewsA 19-year extension to the Concession Agreement for the management of Turkey's Antalya Port (Port of Akdeniz) has been signed by Qatar's terminal operating business.
The most recent arrangement with QTerminals will enable the business to carry out its activities at the port of Antalya until 2047.
Qatar's QTerminals, which offers a variety of services such as containers, general cargo, and offshore supply services, among others, is regarded as a gateway to international economic activity.
The business was essential in reviving Qatar's economy, and the addition of QTerminals Antalya to its portfolio in October 2020 helped it to grow even further.
The biggest organized port on a coastline of almost 700 nautical miles between Izmir and Mersin is QTerminals Antalya, which was added to the QTerminals Group portfolio in October 2020, according to the statement.
One of the major port operators in Turkey, Port Akdeniz, which operates the port in Antalya, has made a number of improvements and added new services to make it easier for importers and exporters to load and unload goods.
The port is located near the Kemer exit and has high-quality highway connections to important industrial and tourist destinations including Burdur, Isparta, Denizli, Mula, Afyonkarahisar, Mersin, and Konya.
According to the business, QTerminals Antalya can handle 350,000 TEU containers, 1,500 ships each year, and 5 million tonnes of general and bulk cargo.
A cruise terminal, a container terminal, a bulk cargo terminal, a general cargo terminal, and a project cargo terminal are all part of the new addition's multifunctional port.
QTerminals Antalya will be able to raise the bar with cutting-edge amenities thanks to the concession agreement's 19-year extension, which will help the tourist industry. The arrangement also guarantees that QTerminals Antalya will keep offering top-notch services in the area, fostering the expansion of the Turkish economy.
QTerminals is a partnership between Qatar Navigation Services, Milaha, and Qatar Port's Management Company, Mwani Qatar.
With the establishment of QTerminals Antalya, the firm has surpassed Izmir and Mersin in terms of the volume of both passenger and freight operations.
