Qatar will host the 2023 Volleyball Challenger Cup, which will take place in July of that year and will be the first of its kind in the Middle East, according to an award from the International Volleyball Federation.
After reviewing the petitions filed by several nations, the FIVB revealed its choice, saying that the State of Qatar was the clear favourite to host the 2023 edition of the competition.
For his part, Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, the chairperson of the board of directors of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA), said in a statement on the occasion that the readiness of the international sports facilities on which the tournament will be held, along with the State of Qatar's tremendous reputation for hosting major sporting events, has caused QVA to attain great importance to the development of volleyball to the international level.
Al Kuwari stated that the association is eager to welcome the participation of teams and FIVB authorities in what will be a "extraordinary" event.
Al Kuwari expressed his thanks to the Qatar Olympic Committee for its tremendous support of the association and for the success of the tournament's hosting as he closed his address by praising the FIVB's faith in the talents of QVA.
