Qatar welcomed over 3.2 million visitors by end of August this year, a 26% increase from that of last year

NewsBy the end of August of this year, over 3.2 million people had visited Qatar, a 26% increase over the same time in 2023, according to HE Saad Bin Ali Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chair of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar.
He said, "The State of Qatar has always recognised the significant impact of the tourism industry under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The tourism industry is paving the way for our country to continue to thrive by creating jobs, fostering inclusion, and strengthening our local economy."
He continued by saying that this tactic helps to close gaps by providing chances for cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
In order to diversify the country’s economic growth, Qatar tourism has been deliberately boosting Qatar's status as a top family travel destination known for its superior service.
He said, "With the successful hosting of major events like the FIFA World Cup 2022, the AFC Asian Cup 2023, and the Qatar Grand Prix, Qatar has firmly established itself as a major sports hub today."
Additionally, he said that the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is vital to the expansion of tourism, with 128 locations offering 70,000 square meters of show space for significant global events like the Web Summit and the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar.
He also emphasises how committed Qatar Tourism is to strengthening the nation's worldwide profile by actively taking part in international trade shows and forging strategic alliances, such as those with Goodwood Racecourse and UEFA.
