The formation of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) was officially announced by the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC). It was first announced in a press conference and was followed by an official statement on their socials.
The initiative to establish QCSF was taken by the QOC as a measure to promote sports among female and male students in higher education institutions. Several activities and events, acting parallel to the latest sporting advancements, are expected to be hosted by the federation.
The objectives of QCSF include intention to organise, coordinate and implement sports programs and activities that exposes talented sportsmen and women at the collegiate level. These newly found talented young athletes will be bestowed with opportunities to grow on a local, national and international level.
The press conference was presided by the QCSF president HE Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Naimi and other staff from QOC. Rasid Saeed Adiba, the Head of QOC PR and International Cooperation, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khaled Al Thani, Asma Muhammed Al Naimi, and Dr. Salem Nasser Al Naimi among other officials also attended the event.
Dr. Al Naimi addressed the QCSF as an entity that will play a key role in the Qatar 2030 National Vision through its sustainable sports development. Dr. Al Naimi also mentioned that, “The QCSF is an entity that acts as a complementary level to the sports activities being organized at the primary, intermediate and secondary schools throughout Schools Olympic Program.”
