QPO will be holding a special concert in celebration of coronation of King Charles III

NewsThe Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) will perform a special concert in honour of King Charles III's coronation as it approaches.
The performance will take place two days before to King Charles III and his wife, Camilla, being formally crowned as King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth states on May 6.
The performance, which is being produced in partnership with the British Embassy in Qatar, will feature a mix of classical and contemporary music, including compositions by Handel and Walton.
Conductor Renchang Fu, cellist Anton Pavlocski, and trumpeter Joris Laenen are among the performers.
Ten musical pieces will be included in the programme: George Frideric Handel: Royal Fireworks Music, HWV 351; Vaughan Williams: Greensleeves; Franz Joseph Haydn: Concerto in D major for Violoncello, Hob.VIIb:2 – 1. Movement; Jeremiah Clarke: Trumpet Tune;William Walton: Crown Imperial (Coronation March); Gustav Holst: The Planets (Jupiter); Edward Elgar: Enigma Variations, op.36 (Nimrod); William Walton: Orb & Sceptre; George Butterworth: The Banks of Green Willow; and Edward Elgar: Pomp and Circumstance, March No.4 in G major.

After the coronation concert, on May 13, QPO will present "Electro Maqam: Maias Alyamani and Yahia Tello," another performance, also at QNCC at 7:30pm.
