NewsTadamon which is a project to ensure food supply, agriculture, environmental, and health sustainability, was introduced at Expo 2023 Doha's International Zone. Its goal is to eliminate food waste. Furthermore, the project aims to improve recycling practises for all types of waste—organic, solid, and plastic—in a way that protects the environment.
Al Rayyan Municipality started the programme in collaboration with the Waste Recycling and Treatment Department, General Cleanliness Department, Food Security Department, and Hifz Al Naema Centre, a social initiative to decrease food waste.
The partnership aims to reduce food waste, achieve balance in the distribution of food stocks, and create a more sustainable development system and social solidarity in order to achieve food security for all segments of society and contribute to raising awareness of the significance of food sustainability, according to Director of Al Rayyan Municipality Jaber Hassan Al Jaber, who spoke at the launch event.
According to him, the Ministry of Municipality gives sustainability criteria in every subject a lot of consideration, as demonstrated by all of its ministries, municipalities, and sectors.
