The MoPH advises fans to get fully vaccinated for Covid-19 before the 2022 Qatar World Cup

The Ministry of Public Health has recommended that fans and tourists be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and seasonal influenza before arriving in Doha for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

The ministry said in the pre-travel advice section of its website's new 'Fan Health Information' page: "All visitors to Qatar are recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including all boosters for which they are eligible, prior to arrival. All visitors to Qatar are recommended to receive their seasonal influenza vaccination prior to arrival.

The ministry also recommends that travelers visit their official website and update themselves with the latest COVID-19 information, including their travel policy. They have also launched a website that provides all the important health information for the FIFA World Cup for fans entering the country.

In addition, the MoPH also recommends that visitors undergo a full medical examination six weeks before entering Qatar. “This will help identify any underlying health issues and give visitors peace of mind. This should also include a dental check-up,” the ministry said.

Emphasizing their role in ensuring the best possible results, the ministry added: "Make sure you know your blood type and write it down in a document and keep it safe with other health records."

Visitors are requested to bring enough medicines, especially those with subscriptions. The 'Fan Health Information' page includes all these requirements in addition to information on health care services in Qatar, pre-travel advice, COVID-19 information and travel policy, mental health helpline and a safe and healthy tournament.
