Training tour of FIFA World Cup 2022 volunteers started at Lusail Stadium

News FIFA World CupAbout 16,000 volunteers gathered at the Lusail Stadium for the orientation event attended by football legends and FIFA dignitaries. The event saw a preview of the upcoming event and how volunteers played an important role in it. Additionally, the official volunteer uniform was unveiled along with a new e-learning platform that provides convenient training and information resources.
Lusail Stadium served as the perfect venue for the event as it was the first time all the volunteers gathered to formally begin their training and reflect on their journey ahead.
Eng. Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) Director General Yasir Al Jamal inaugurated the event, acknowledging and welcoming the significant contribution of volunteers to the upcoming experience and overall success of the FIFA World Cup.
With 45 different functional roles for volunteers, the event ensured a sense of community and allowed everyone to become familiar with their work, ultimately giving them an insight into the expectations and rewards of participating.
Colin Smith, FIFA's Chief Operating Officer and Q22's World Cup Managing Director, expressed gratitude and inclusion: “Volunteers are our true heartbeat, as their passion and selfless dedication keep everything we do alive. This is the common thread that unites 20,000 volunteers regardless of nationality, culture, age, gender and experience. It is through their efforts that the FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar can be considered the most inclusive ever, connecting people from all cultures and backgrounds through the game of football.
