NewsThe World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) 2024 Innovation Competition was announced during Web Summit Qatar 2024. The WISH session "Innovating in Health: Pathways to Success," which was held in the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council pavilion, provided attendees with information on the advantages of the event as well as how to apply to participate in WISH 2024.
Professor Mahmood Adil, Ministerial Advisor at the Ministry of Public Health, and WISH 2022 grand prize winner Katarina Hedbeck, CEO and co-founder of a startup called "Tada Group," both spoke during the panel discussion. They emphasised the importance of the government and other key partners in creating a healthcare innovation ecosystem that will facilitate the adoption and spread of innovation in Qatar. The lineup was completed by Sultana Afdhal, CEO of WISH, a Qatar Foundation member. Visionary business owners, early- to mid-stage health-focused businesses, and innovators looking to present ground-breaking ideas that tackle the most pressing global health issues are welcome to enter the competition.
The winners that make it through the judging process will be given the opportunity to exhibit at the esteemed WISH 2024 international healthcare summit, which is scheduled for November 13–14 at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha, Qatar.
Since its inception in 2013, the WISH Innovation Award Programme has helped 148 inventors from 36 different nations. Practical tools, design-based fixes, and integrated software programmes are a few of the innovations that are promoted; they are all intended to increase the accessibility, affordability, and sustainability of global healthcare.
