Winners of HMC’s 11th Stars of Excellence Awards were honoured in a ceremony held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel

At a ceremony held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Managing Director of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Minister of Public Health, celebrated the recipients of HMC's 11th Stars of Excellence Awards. The Managing Director's Award, the Star of Excellence Award, and the Rising Star Award were among the three primary categories of the awards, which were Health, Education, and Research.

The awards programme was started in 2010 to honour staff members' exceptional accomplishments and to recognise their dedication to providing high-quality healthcare services. Since Stars of Excellence first opened for nominations, more than 3,200 had been sent in. Of these, more than 400 teams have received recognition for their exceptional role in enabling HMC to provide patients with high-quality treatment.

The winning project teams received a total of 28 accolades, including the Managing Director's Award, the Star of Excellence Award, the Rising Star Award, and two accolades of Merit, in three primary categories: health, education, and research. 

"Novel Clinical Practices for Covid-19 Critical Care Management" was this year's Managing Director's Award-winning initiative. It also took home the Star of Excellence Award in the Health category. The project's main goal was to guarantee a low death rate by implementing changes to clinical practice.
