World Cleanup Day; Several awareness events and activities organised to promote cleanliness

The Ministry of Municipality has been planning several awareness-raising events and activities throughout the nation to commemorate World Cleanup Day.

Among the initiatives include educating shoppers about the value of cleanliness through kiosks at shopping centres, hosting awareness talks at schools and conducting beach and island clean-ups.

The importance of a clean environment is brought to attention by the global campaign known as World Cleanup Day, which takes place on September 20.

The day's objective is to promote teamwork in addressing the escalating waste and pollution issue.

The official United Nations Calendar of International Days and Weeks has officially included World Cleanup Day, effective from 2024.

In order to address the global waste challenge and contribute to the creation of a new, more sustainable, and trash-free future, this will provide even bigger opportunity to bring tens of millions of people together in cross-sector collaboration.
