News EventThe 11th CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines is expected to be the largest and most competitive event in history when it begins tomorrow. Top riders and premium horses from all over the world have been attending the renowned competition since its inception in 2013. This year's equestrian spectacle at the cutting-edge Al Shaqab is expected to see record participation.
During the three-day event, 189 riders from 37 different nations will be demonstrating their abilities in the Olympic horse sports of dressage, para-dressage, and showjumping. Among these riders are fifty challengers from Qatar, who will compete in the prestigious event with over seventy horses and a €1.2 million prize fund.
The CHI Al Shaqab, one of the five CHI (Concours Hippique International) contests held globally, is the hallmark event of Al Shaqab. In the Middle East and Asia, it is the sole competition of its sort. The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) designates as CHI international events those that feature three or more equestrian disciplines.
Along with the CSI 1*, CSI 2*, and CSI 3* contests, Doha will host the Concours de Saut International Children (CSICH), which will serve as a qualifying event for kids in the Group VII (MENA Region) for this year's final.
