Over 700 teams from more than 200 public and private schools across the country participated in the 16th School Robotics Competition, which began yesterday. This is a 35% increase in participation from 2023.
With assistance from the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM), the Ministry of Sports and Youth's Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) is coordinating the event with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).
Along with a number of authorities and department heads, the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports and Youth, H E Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili.
The Minister took a tour of the competition's seventh scientific display, which features the inventive ideas of the student competitors.
The Schools Robotics Championship consists of the annual Robot for Children (Discovery) and Robot for Children (Explorer) competitions, as well as beginner and advanced divisions for line tracing, ball collecting, and Sumo competitions. Additionally, there are divisions for the Innovation Competition (Research and Programming), FLL competition, and Sumo competition.
