Amidst a huge crowd, Qatar's flag, Al Adaam, was raised yesterday in the main square of Darb Al Saai, signaling the beginning of the heritage and cultural events. Activities for the National Day of Qatar 2024, which is celebrated on December 18 of each year, were kicked off by Culture Minister H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani at Darb Al Saai in the Umm Salal neighborhood. The Ministry of Culture is organizing the event from December 10 to December 18.
Darb Al Saai is hosting 15 major events spread across 104 events this year, and the Ministry of Culture has made sure that there are many cultural and heritage events through the open spaces and corners that transport visitors—both citizens and residents—to a vibrant environment that reflects Qatari culture.
The Qatari House, the main theater, Liwan Al Fan, Al Bidda, Al Maqtar, Al Ezba, Al Shaqab, Darb Al Saai Track, Al Meesir, Puppet Theater, Desert Museum, Qatari Note Museum, Qatar Reads, Interactive Games Area, Souq, and Al Meez are among the cultural and heritage events and activities that Darb Al Saai is hosting this year. Using cutting-edge display technologies and stunning digital content, the first-ever "Sana Qatar" event is a digital art show that focuses on video experiences.
A live cooking competition with the subject "Qatari Flavour," which highlights the distinctiveness of Qatari food, is another feature of Darb Al Saai events. First place will receive QR80,000, second place will receive QR60,000, and third place will receive QR40,000.
