Ajyal Film Festival will be held from November 16 to 23 at prestigious locations

According to the organizers, the Doha Film Institute (DFI) will host the 2024 Ajyal Film Festival, which will feature a carefully chosen collection of 66 provocative films from 42 nations that explore themes that audiences find compelling through tales of resiliency, optimism, and community empowerment. The festival's schedule consists of 18 feature films, 48 shorts, 26 Arab films, 24 films directed by women, and 14 DFI-supported films.

The festival will be held from November 16 to 23 at prestigious locations like Katara, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Lusail, and VOX Cinemas Doha Festival City and is centered around the theme "Moments that Matter," honoring the important role that film has played in fostering our interconnectedness from a variety of viewpoints, according to the organizers. In addition, there will be interactive talks, inclusive film screenings, a film exhibition, and Geekend, the biggest pop-culture event in Qatar.

The festival will open with an uplifting feature documentary showcasing youth activism that uses poetry, solidarity, and cultural advocacy to change society.

In order to highlight the extreme injustices and violent aggressiveness that people in the area face, two unique programs have also been put together.

This show will feature the most recent creations by renowned Cambodian filmmaker and screenwriter Rithy Panh.
