‘Art and Environment Exhibition – Barouq’ at Zekreet is organised by Al Hosh Gallery

News EventAn ‘Art and Environment Exhibition – Barouq’ at Zekreet organised by Al Hosh Gallery was opened by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Sheikh Dr. H E Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani yesterday. The exhibition will continue until tomorrow.
The Minister toured the exhibition where he was briefed about paintings and artworks on display, which are considered a quantum leap in integrating the Qatari environment with modern art.
The Minister admired the theme of the exhibition which is based on merging art with the Qatari environment. He noted that this event and the exhibitions it includes is considered a new type of modern local art that aims to introduce the local environment, and contributes greatly to the public and visitors’ knowledge of the great biodiversity of Qatari local environment.
Lauding the venue of the event at Brouq Reserve, he said that the three-day event contains many distinguished works of art that contribute to spreading the idea of environmental sustainability.
The Minister called on the public and citizens to visit the event, especially as it contains all the services of restaurants and cinema, in a distinct atmosphere, in addition to presenting creative ideas.
He explained that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, by assuming its role and vision, supports every national work carried out by all the people of Qatar, including artists and those interested in environmental affairs, to support the local environment and introduce it.
The Minster said that this leads to spreading the culture of preserving the local environment and the great biological and plant diversity it contains, which must be nurtured and developed in all ways and means.
He said that Qatar Environment Day 2023 witnesses many distinguished activities and actions targeting all segments of society to support the concepts and meanings of preserving the local environment.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a group of accompanying activities will be held, in addition to holding art exhibitions dealing with the history of the region in the Imam’s house, in addition to the participation of a number of plastic artists, including Sheikh Hassan Al Thani, Nada Al Kharashi, Azzam Al Mannai, Aisha Al Abdullah, Hadeer Omar, Hassan Bahu Fahad Al Maadeed, Mohammed Al Emadi, Lulwa Al Nuaimi.
In addition to the Sustainability Exhibition, an exhibition will be presented by a young ambassador for sustainable development goals, a group of young people from 5-18 years of age working to spread community awareness of sustainable development issues; and they will present artwork that achieves the goals of sustainable development.
Ghanem Jassim Al Ghanim, CEO of Al Hosh Gallery, expressed his happiness and thanks to Minister of Environment and Climate Change, for inaugurating the Al Hosh Gallery and its art exhibitions.
He pointed out that this visit gives great support to the exhibition and the artists in charge of the exhibition and artwork.
Al Ghanim explained that Al Hosh event contributes to the launch of a new type of local art, which is based on linking the local environment with distinguished works of art, that contribute to introducing visitors and the public to the Qatari environment and its great biological diversity.
