Electric Idyll' exhibition takes visitors on a multisensory journey showcasing diverse collection of works by renowned Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist

Enter the vivid world of "Electric Idyll," an exhibition at Doha Fire Station featuring the vibrant artworks of famous Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist paired with everyday materials. Organised across 650 square metres in the Garage Gallery of the Fire Station, 'Electric Idyll' immerses viewers in a multi-sensory experience while exhibiting Rist's eclectic array of artworks. Vibrant colours flow over rugs and chairs in the gallery's dimly lit space, producing a kaleidoscope effect in a comfortable environment.

Visitors are invited to engage with each of the various inanimate items scattered about the area, which are projected with slow-moving video projections. Some of the audience members are excited as they eagerly immerse themselves in the imaginative "living space," while others choose to only admire the mesmerising beauty from a distance that is well beyond the projector lights.

"Electric Idyll" is both Rist's first survey exhibition in the Middle East and his second significant production in Doha. It also comes after 'Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You,' the artist's well-received installation that was initially shown to art fans in Qatar at the National Museum two years ago.

The public can view the display till June 1, 2024. Electric Idyll will be open Saturday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., and on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
