Fifth edition of the Classic Cars Exhibition and Competition; 70 classic automobiles to be displayed

News EventThe Classic Cars Exhibition and Competition is back for its fifth year with 70 classic automobiles on display, more than double the 40 cars that participated in the previous editions. The event, which is being sponsored by H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the chairperson of the Qatar Museums Board of Trustees, is a reflection of the increasing interest in the preservation and collection of antique cars in the region.
The most recent edition of the event will be hosted in Medina Central at the Pearl from November 27 to December 2, 2024, and will run for six days, according to a press conference conducted at the Fairmont Hotel by the Qatari Gulf Classic Cars Association (QGCC).
This year's event will go beyond the customary trophy-only structure of past years by offering monetary rewards for winners in five categories, a first for the exhibition.
There will be 18 winners in all, including awards for the best-preserved cars and the best car in the entire event.
According to the competition's organizers, some of the participating cars are worth up to $1 million. They also claimed that continuing discussions with insurance firms are being held to safeguard these priceless automotive artifacts.
