News EventTwo exhibitions titled "Neighbours of the Sea" and "Etheralscape," created by present and past Fire Station inhabitants, will be on display at Gallery 3 and Gallery 4 at Fire Station from June 5 to August 17, 2024, as part of the Fire Station Artist in Residence programme.
The Fire Station's Artists in Residence and Ruwad in Residence programmes (2021–2023) include these shows. Their goal is to develop local talent by providing production assistance, curatorial direction, and knowledgeable mentorship.
Over thirty mixed-media paintings exploring the deep relationship between the artists' inner worlds and their environment, culture, and legacy will be on display in "Neighbours of the Sea," a joint exhibition by well-known Qatari painters Wafika Sultan Al Issa and Hassan Al Mulla.
Despite their disparate artistic techniques, this exhibition will demonstrate how their creative expressions overlap by showcasing Qatar's distinctive natural surroundings and rich cultural fabric.
