News EventThroughout the month of August, Qatar Museums (QM) will be hosting a variety of exciting workshops, camps, and exhibitions that are intended to provide both adults and children with interesting indoor experiences.
M7 and Liwan
M7 and Liwan are offering a lively 5-day summer program that emphasises character development and storytelling.
Summer Camp for Kids at M7 & Liwan
Date: August 21 - 27, 2024;
Time: 9 am – 1:30 pm
Character development and storytelling will be the main themes of this five-day summer course. Participants can employ a variety of practical creative techniques to bring their fictional characters to life. Children will have the chance to present their works to their families and have a conversation about what they created after camp. To register, click here.
Museum of Islamic Art (MIA)
A Family Day event, numerous art workshops for adults and children, and storytelling sessions will all be held at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).

Workshop: Creative work by Arabic Calligraphy
Date: August 18, 2024
Time: 4 pm to 6 pm
Create a superb art creation to discover the beauty of calligraphy. You can compose a passage on glossy ornament paper using a text you select from the Museum collections. The necessary materials will be supplied by the workshop.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art
A range of seminars intended to foster and motivate your creative side will be held at the museum.
Workshop: Mixed Media with Fabric (For ages 15 and above)
Date: August 17 & 24, 2024
Time: 3 pm - 5 pm
You will be able to explore your imagination and create stunning, multi-layered artwork with the aid of this workshop. You will experiment with various materials, including paints, papers, and other items, to create dynamic compositions.

- Cartooning for Critical Thinkers
Date and Time: August 8, 2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm and
August 10, 2024, from 11am - 2 pm
Participate in this engaging class with satirical cartoonist Khalid Albaih. An intensive voyage into the world of political cartooning will be taken by participants.
Attendees will learn the essential skills of cartoon production in a world of misinformation, regardless of past expertise.

The NMOQ is set to host a series of engaging seminars, storytelling sessions, and summer camps, including an educational and amusing program on cybersecurity.

Jay Leslie's book "Game, Set, Sisters!" is the subject of this month's storytelling session. For kids ages 7 to 11, the book will be read aloud, offering a fascinating experience that ignites imaginations and cultivates a love of reading.

Qatar Museums' Archeology & Heritage
Qatar Museums' Archeology & Heritage department will host summer camps titled Artefacts Workshop for children and adults. The programs will be held at Liwan.
Summer Camp: Artefacts Workshop (for kids)

Time: 10:30 am - 12 pm
Assist archaeologists in classifying ceramics based on their dimensions, composition, hue, and wear patterns to ascertain their intended uses! Limited spots are available, but the workshop is free. Please bring a reusable water bottle that is full.

Summer Camp: Artefacts Workshop (for adults)

Help archaeologists identify pottery based on its typology by learning about various artefact kinds and environmental data. Learn how to sketch and analyse ceramics found during archaeological digs in Qatar, and see how this information may be utilised to get further insight into the lives of those who formerly called this nation home. While there is no cost for the session, space is limited. Kindly remember to bring a reusable, full bottle of water.

Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar will host a few entertaining and informative workshops for little ones.
