Qatar is a nation which has a day set aside just for sports and fitness-related events. This year's event will take place on February 13, which is the second Tuesday of every February. The National Sport Day (NSD) Organising Committee said that the event will be conducted under the motto "The Choice Is Yours."
The head of the NSD organising committee, Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, who also serves as an advisor to the minister of sports and youth in Qatar, claimed that the day increased public awareness of the value of physical activity and sports for both people and society.
He claimed that plans were on to hold NSD events around the country.
In the meantime, Abdullah Al Dosari, Director of activities and Activities for Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA), said that the organisation will hold over 683 different kinds of community activities in 2024.
The year-round activities of QSFA are intended to encourage healthy living and sports in local communities.
Following the publication of Amiri Resolution No. 80 of 2011, Qatar observed National Day for the first time in February 2012. The NSD was to fall on Tuesday of the second week of February every year, according to the agreement. Ministries, other governmental bodies, and public institutions will host athletic events for staff members and their families to attend on this paid vacation.
