As part of the inaugural 'Match for Hope' project, Qatar is staging a historic charity football match on February 23. Football legends and some of the best content makers in the world come together for one event. Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, one of the Qatar World Cup 2022 stadiums, will host the first Match for Hope. Social media celebrities Chunkz and AboFlah will skipper their respective teams throughout the contest. The 45,000-seat stadium, which held seven matches at the Qatar World Cup 2022 and will hold seven matches during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, will see the two captains lead sides comprised of both well-known content producers and World Cup icons in a showdown encounter.
The purpose of Match for Hope is to generate funds and awareness for the worldwide nonprofit organisation Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, which is committed to changing lives via education. The EAA's initiatives in Mali, Rwanda, Tanzania, Pakistan, Palestine, and Sudan will get all match revenues.
The International Media Office (IMO) of the State of Qatar, through its cultural portal Q Life, will reveal the complete roster of participants in the upcoming weeks. Live music performances will also be part of the event, which is being arranged in association with the Qatar Football Association (QFA). The performers will be revealed soon.
Tickets are available for purchase at www.match4hope.com or via Ticketmaster. By using the 'Donate' option on the Match for Hope website, supporters may also contribute to the cause. Fans from all around the world may watch the action live in both Arabic and English. By using sports to promote peace and education, the Match for Hope programme seeks to carry on the legacy of the inaugural World Cup hosted in the Middle East and Arab world.
