Qatar won against Kuwait in the third round of joint qualifiers for 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2027 AFC Asian Cup

Qatar and Kuwait squared off in the third round of joint qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on March 21, 2024.

Both teams were tied at zero goals at the interval.  The score was 1-0 in favour of Qatar until the 47th minute of the second half when Akram Afif opened the score for Al Annabi. In the 51st minute, Ahmed Al-Rawi of Qatar scored the team's second goal, making the score 2-0. In the 68th minute, Akram Afif of Al Annabi scored the third goal against Kuwait. 

In the end, Qatar defeated Kuwait 3-0 to win the match.
