13 Nov 2024
News EventThe two-day "Tawteen Forum 2024" was launched by QatarEnergy with the goal of increasing the inclusivity and adaptability of the "Tawteen" program and its benefits for all participants, which would improve the localization of services and businesses in the State of Qatar's energy sector. Through the event, QatarEnergy and the businesses taking part in Tawteen's In-Country Value Program (ICV) can network and explore commercial prospects and collaborations that will increase their contributions to the local economy.
The forum will also offer opportunities for a deeper understanding of the improved ICV Program, which includes an incentive program to reward companies for their positive contributions in specific fields and important amendments designed to provide a wider scope of the local contribution for all companies.
Aside from additional specialized sessions, the forum's working sessions cover topics such as the improved In-Country Value Program, accreditation, future goals, QatarEnergy's conduct standards, best practices to improve suppliers' ICV, and investor support and involvement.
Over 4,000 people are attending the forum, which also features an exhibition by businesses involved in the Tawteen program, which was started in 2019 with the goal of supporting the growth of the local supply chain for the energy sector, increasing the number of small and medium-sized businesses in Qatar, and making a sustainable in-country value contribution.
Government officials and representatives from engineering, construction, and contracting firms are also participating.
