The stars of Team Qatar and the local communities engaged in the celebrations yesterday for the 13th National Sport Day, which was organised by the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and presided over by H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani. As part of its continuous commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle, QOC arranged events around the nation to emphasise the significance of the country's athletic culture and overall well-being.
National Sport Day was established in 2012 and is observed yearly to encourage active living. Among the first nations in the world and the first in the region, Qatar has a national holiday centred around sports each year. It was observed nationwide this year, making it the greatest one ever. Specifically, in a specially constructed Team Qatar Village, the QOC offered the public the chance to enjoy sports with their favourite Team Qatar athletes.
