News EventThrough its website and the "Bee'ah" app, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) has announced the start of registration for the annual winter camping season for 2024–25, which runs from October 15 to November 5, 2024.
October 15, 2024, will mark the start of the six and a half-month winter season, which ends on April 30, 2025. Winter camping rates have been lowered from QR10,000 to QR3,000 for all sites, with pensioners and those with disabilities being excluded.
Speaking at a press conference held at MECC's headquarters yesterday, Mohammed Ahmed Al Dahi, the director of the organization's public relations and communication department, stated that first-time campers are permitted to set up their tents in the approved locations as soon as they have finished the booking process and obtained the camp's location (coordinate and number).
He mentioned that in order to correct the winter camp's coordinates, MECC inspectors will get in touch with the camp owners in less than 72 hours.
Everyone must provide a security deposit of QR10,00, which will be reimbursed at the conclusion of the camping season, as soon as the camp is dismantled, and the site is restored to its initial state as stated by Al Dahi.
The registration procedure will take place in three phases, according to MECC's Director of the Wildlife Protection Department, Hamad Salem Al Nuaimi: the central area from October 15 to 17; the southern region on October 18, 19 and 20; and the northern region from October 21 to 24.
