News EventAs part of Qatar's commemoration of the sixth International Day of Education, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) announced the start of a week-long programme of events.
According to MoEHE'S Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili, in a press conference, the celebrations, which take place from January 21 to 25, are themed "Education is everyone's responsibility" and include a variety of activities involving students and teachers from all public and private schools as well as their families in an effort to promote social accountability and the role that education plays in the development of individuals and societies.
Al Ruwaili went on to say that the many activities that parents, students, and community members engage in within schools, along with the sharing of their educational experiences, will enhance the learning environment, inspire students, raise community awareness, and draw attention to Qatar's educational advancements. The events will feature an exhibition, a plethora of educational, pedagogical, athletic, artistic, dramatic, and technological activities, and a panel discussion with the topic "Education is everyone's responsibility" on Monday. The panel will bring together an elite collection of educators and education aficionados.
The commemoration, which was approved by the UN General Assembly in 2018 to be observed on January 24 every year, aims to draw attention to how crucial education is to attaining development.
