Souq Waqif Art Center has opened Gaza in Our Eyes exhibition with the participation of 32 artists

With the involvement of thirty-two artists who are residents of Qatar and inhabitants of the Souq Waqif Art Centre, the exhibition Gaza in Our Eyes was launched at the centre. The artists at this show represented all that is going on in the Gaza Strip, including the forced relocation and destruction of houses and buildings that the Gazan people are forced to live through.

The artworks on display at the center's grounds honoured the most well-known figures who emerged throughout the extraordinary and ceaseless Israeli assault on Gaza since October of last year. They have been working in three-week workshops to present the results of their masterpieces at this exhibition, therefore the paintings also emphasised expressions that spread throughout the violence.

"Gaza in Our Eyes" suggests that all of the artists taking part in the exhibition are representing the artistic paintings according to their own viewpoints, how they interpret events in Gaza in order to further express their emotions and show them through colour on artistic paintings, Al Mansoori continued.

Al Mansoori concluded by recalling the variety of these artistic paintings in the exhibition, which included expressionist graphics, as well as figures that rose from the occurrences in Gaza, including journalists and others, as well as tanks and peace pigeons. These depictions of art conveyed both the tragedy and hope that the Palestinian people are going through in Gaza.
