News EventTeams and spectators from all over the world will be welcomed to the Lusail International Circuit (LIC) for an exciting weekend. Less than 17 days remain till the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix. Three days, from October 6 to 8, are allotted for the event.
The inaugural F1 Sprint in Qatar will take place at the brand-new, cutting-edge track when Formula 1 makes its first appearance in Qatar since 2021. This season, LIC will host the F1 Sprint alongside Azerbaijan, Austria, Belgium, Austria, the United States, and Brazil.
The F1 Sprint is a 100km high-intensity race that was created to showcase the most exciting and competitive racing that Formula 1 has to offer. The Sprint offers teams and drivers still another chance to accrue points for their respective championships, with the top eight finishers receiving points (one for P8 and eight for the winner).
The grid for the F1 Sprint will be decided by a special, shorter qualifying session known as the Sprint Shootout on Saturday. Q1 will last 12 minutes, followed by Q2 and Q3 each lasting 10 minutes. Each qualifying round requires brand-new tyres, with mediums for rounds one and two and softs for round three.
