News EventVisitors are cordially invited to "Welcome to Isfahan," a rare book exhibition and impressive collection that explores the rich history of Isfahan under the Safavid Empire, in the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) library. For anyone interested in learning more about Iran's history, culture, and the city's famous architectural marvels, creative accomplishments, mouthwatering food, ground-breaking scientific discoveries, and even a fascinating European viewpoint on the city's distinct appeal, this exhibition provides a comprehensive guide.
MIA called it a "window into Isfahan's past" on its website. For example, the book "Half the World is Isfahan" describes a year-long road trip across Iran. The story was written by the author, Caroline Singer, and her husband, Cyrus Baldridge, added more than a hundred marginal sketches and six full pages of colourful crayon illustrations.
